I went to this page http://www.jollyrogersweb.com/resultAlpha.asp?selAlpha=J&offset=60 to search on your grandfather and found some info which may provide you with a starting point. It indicated that he was with 321st squadron. The rank looks like he may have been a 1st LT. Not sure if it is a typographical error. If so, then he was an officer and that would help to narrow the search. There are lots of places on the web that you can search to help fill in the details. My father in law passed away with very few details, however he did leave a massive amounts of records that allowed us to research his military career after his passing. Good luck.

    My grandfather was Edwin R. Johnson from Lexington MA and later Carlisle MA. Not sure what his position was, he didn't talk much about it. He passed away October 2008. I'd like to hear from anyone... more
