This is before July of 43 as evidenced by the lack of Skull and bombs on the tail, and no nose turret.

I checked my post war roster compiled by Loyde Adams over the years and there is one Short.
Ralph W Short who died in 1972. He was a sergeant in the 400th, serial #16035079, and part to the ground echelon from Chicago.
