My name is helen (girton) collingwood, My dad,staff sgt. Dale R Girton enlisted in Wilkes Barre PA,was then sent to Ft. Hamiton,NY-----was a gunner and radio operator on the liberator--90th group 321st squadron--pretty baby--; He had basic training(schofield B----) in field artillery in Panama 1940 then--army-air force 1940 to 1943 in port Morsby, New Guinea--they were patroling the coast there; they did come under attack( I have a message on the *B-24 crew members*section that discribes it). I can't seem to get any information on my dad---He's not even listed in "the legacy of the 90th bomber group?" I don't understand. I would love to here from anybody who new him(crew or friends)over there and tell me about him.He came back on a hospital ship-1944- from south america--arrived in New Orleans-Mar. or Apr.- 1944. He was eventually discharged at Westover Field,Mass.Oct. 7 1945( Honorably)Please contact me if you know anything
