On July 15th, 1945 a B-24 Liberator of the 319th Bomber Squadron cashed into the sea shortly after take off on a mission to Canton, China. The bomber was piloted by my Grandfather's youngest sibling, 2nd Lt Edgar Walton Osterberg. Killed in the cash were 2nd Lt James Ferguson, 2nd Lt Joseph Horgan, T/Sgt Frank Piraino, T/Sgt Robert Schafer, T/Sgt Leonard Huffstetler, S/Sgt Lawrence Teall and S/Sgt Jack Schmidt.

Surviving the crash were Lt. Klien and S/Sgt Sellick.

I am looking for any information regarding the my great uncle's service, plane name, plane number or nose art.
