90th Bomb Group Message Board
Message No. 710Message:
Hello there, My name is Jacqueline millar. My late mother Mary was in love with one of the crew of the 319th BS. I have the last letter that he wrote to her on Red Cross paper. He was killed shortly after. He had also taken off his patch and gave it to her along with a dozen roes the last time they were together. I still have the letter and the patch. The children in our family have always been taught the family motto which is 'ASTERPERIOUS' which means Superior Attitude in an Inferior Environment. It has been a good way to live. Apparently the squadron made it up. I also have a Photograph of the young man with the patch still on his leather jacket.
That is all I have, but all my life I have longed to find out more about this gallant man. His name was Frank Hudspeth. I don't know where he is buried, or in fact if he was ever found. I know he had a family in the US but have forgotten where. I would love to have more information on him. Is there anywhere I can look? Please help if you can.
Regards
Jacqueline
