were enemy aircraft that were shot-down by the gunners tallied to the aircraft or to the gunner.i guess what i am asking did the squadrons keep a list of how many aircraft were shot down and who shot them down...by the name of the gunner.if they kept a ledger by gunner.i am currious to know how golden's crew in partiular joe minnich did

      When an enemy aircraft was destroyed by a bomber crew in the Fifth Air Force everyone from the pilot to the tail gunner got credit. I found a copy of Headquarters Fifth Air Force General Order No 166 ... more
