42-40077 YANKEE DOODLE DANDY B-24D1-30-CO

MACR 4926. On April 12, 1944, during her 101st mission, she straggled from formation while over Hollandia, and three Zekes shot her down. Whilst flying mission in YANKEE DOODLE DANDY, Golden and crew are lost on 4-12-44. Golden and Donohue were captured by the Japanese, interrogated and then murdered. Three extra men were lost with the crew. 40077 (90th BG/319th BS) shot down by fighters on bombing mission to Hollandia, Dutch New Guinea. Apr 12, 1944. All crew killed.

      I knew Randall he still lives in WI. His address is on the 90th Roster. I believe Yankee was shot down over the Celebes Islands. More later, Jack Ward Stow,Ohio
