hi, my dad arrived ie shima mid august 1945. William Hampton radio operator gunner. I have 1 photo he took of the green cross surrender planes that landed there enroute to phillipines. he later went on to japan as part of the occupation force. don't know what base or unit or plane crew. was returned stateside feb 18 1946. that's all the info I have on him am still looking for more, planes, buddies, crews, etc. may have been on a plane called the embraceable you I have a picture of that planes nose art.
have picture of Waldo, Don, Bill, and Stinkie 1944 that's all I have

    hi was looking to see if there are any veterans who remember serving w/ Tsgt Lawrence Hetzel(nyc) in pacific, ie shima,philippens, late war,may-dec 1945,fly on b-24s/b-17s. thanks .....
